Description

The Personal Fall Arrest Systems or PFAS safety course introduces workers on the jobsite to harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points. The course is broken up into four different sections (Harnesses, Lanyards, Anchor Points, Fall Calculations). Each contains a series of interactive lecture style simulations. Starting with an introduction for each section, workers taking this course will learn about different types of harnesses, Lanyards, and anchor points, the various components and connectors, and how to inspect them. This course also provides an introduction into calculating free-fall distances and available clearance and provides a practice lecture so workers can test what they’ve learned.

  • Recall OSHA requirements for Fall Protection in the Construction Industry
  • Inspect, don, and properly adjust a harness
  • Discuss the different types of harnesses
  • Recall the different components of a harness
  • Identify the different types of lanyards and connectors
  • Properly inspect and utilize lanyard connectors
  • Distinguish the different types of anchor points
