This elearning course, Working in Cold Weather, is designed to help you understand how to protect yourself from the risks associated with working in cold conditions. We'll discuss what cold exposure is, why it is important to use layering when dressing for the cold, and the best types of fabric to choose to protect yourself. We will also discuss how medications or illness can play a role in your susceptibility to the cold, and cover the signs of hypothermia and frostbite. Finally, we will review the benefit of heated shelters or windscreens when working, and how to practice protective controls to battle extremely cold workdays. This elearning course includes a video, downloadable student materials and a short online quiz to check your comprehension of the subject.
