When working in an environment where you are in close contact with blood, it is imperative that you understand the dangers. We'll review such dangers in this elearning course, Blood Pathogens for Employees. You will learn about the different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and how they should be used to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens. We'll also discuss the employer's responsibilities regarding PPE and what to do if there is a rare exception to the rules around the wearing of PPE. After completing the course you will understand the purpose and benefit of PPE, and what to do if there is an exposure incident to increase your personal safety. Part of our series called Understanding Bloodborne Pathogens, this course includes an informative video, downloadable student materials and a short quiz to check your comprehension of the course.
